Here is the list of the new European Commission, as headed up by Jose Manual Barroso, and their portfolios from New Europe. These were announced today.

Spain – Joaqu ín ALMUNIA: Competition. Vice-President of the Commission.

Hungary – László ANDOR: Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion.

UK – Baroness Catherine ASHTON: High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security and Vice-President of the Commission.

France – Michel BARNIER: Internal Market and Services.

Romania – Dacian CIOLOS: Agriculture and Rural Development.

Malta – John DALLI: Health and Consumer Policy.

Greece – Maria DAMANAKI: Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.

Belgium – Karel DE GUCHT: Trade.

Czech Republic - Štefan FÜLE: Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy. *

Austria – Johannes HAHN: Regional Policy.

Denmark – Connie HEDEGAARD: Climate Action.

Ireland – Maire GEOGHEGAN-QUINN: Research and Innovation.

Bulgaria – Rumiana JELEVA: International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response. *
